News item-ACHP Summer 2022 Business Meeting
The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation convened virtually on June 29, 2022. The agenda included discussion of the development of Section 106 exemptions for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment and the Army’s Vietnam War-era historic housing. They also discussed ways to meet the challenge of the shortage of qualified preservation professionals in the face of significant new infrastructure funding. Other agenda items included climate change issues, the ACHP’s work with Traditional Knowledge, the ACHP’s Policy Statement on Burial Sites, Human Remains, and Funerary Objects, and actions to support several preservation-related bills in Congress.
